Crystal Springs Trail
The Crystal Springs Regional Trail is part of the San Mateo County Parks system. The trail has three segments with a total length of more than 15 miles. I did a short part of the northern most segment – the San Andreas segment – yesterday. The trail is wedged into less than 100 meters between San Andreas Lake and I280. The lake is owned by the SF PUC and totally fenced off. The noise level from 280 is almost overwhelming and never lets up. So, if it’s a quiet stroll in the woods you’re looking for, forget it. The ‘big scene’ featuring the lake isn’t possible – at least on the part of the trail I was on yesterday. Think, look for details and other interesting elements. You can see my ideas on that on my recent work page.
