Sonoma Coast 2013
Last week I – once again – spent a couple of days on the Sonoma Coast. The Sonoma Coast has many features that attract me; crashing waves, spring flowers, rocky coasts and other things. For some reason, I seem to always choose a couple of days when the wind is howling across the coast. This time, the gusts had to be over 45 mph. That leads to great waves but it’s not so great for flowers. However, the redwoods didn’t move around a lot in the wind even though the plants and scrubs around them did.
I was in the Sonoma Coast State Beaches, the Stillwater Cove Regional Park, Salt Point State Park and stopped at Point Reyes National Seashore on the way home. Recent work has some of my favorite shots from the trip. The panoramic shot from Drakes Beach – the last shot in the recent work gallery – consists of 10 shots merged in Photoshop. The picture is more than 50 megapixels. Believe it or not, there’s a person in the picture but you won’t be able to see him unless you buy the four foot by two foot version. Price to be negotiated. 🙂
